Multisensor Diagnostics’ rapid medical assessment (RMA) and triage system is a powerful, convenient, cost-effective solution that aims to help improve access to care, increase medication adherence, reduce costs, avoid readmissions, eliminate delays, and ultimately empowers consumers make intelligent decisions about their own health care. Our RMA device, MouthLab, rapidly measures breathing rate and pattern, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, electrocardiogram (ECG) trace, blood oxygen saturation, and spirometric lung function, through a singular source - the mouth, at a fraction of the cost compared to other devices, in less than a minute without the need for any ancillary devices. It was developed to help individuals, and their caregivers to assess health through rapid analysis of core vital signs but ultimately will also include noninvasive analysis of breath, saliva, and blood biomarkers to monitor ketones, stress markers, detect dehydration, and conduct respiratory gas analysis in real-time.
Our Rapid Advantage system starts with a 60seconds daily assessment of multiple health measurements using the MouthLab that is conducted by the patient as part of their daily morning routine. The data are then automatically sent to the cloud, stored in the patient medical records, and analyzed by our artificial intelligence system to assess health status, compliance, and adherence thus providing real-time triage services. If there is a detection of a medical problem by the automated system, the primary care provider or a telehealth provider will be contacted to conduct the final analysis of the data and provide appropriate and timely care.
Further parameters will become available as more biomarker sensing is added to the device over time. All of these measurements are collected daily for each patient. By aggregating these parameters over many weeks and months longitudinally, this increasingly large dataset of medical measurements can be correlated to the specific changes in the patient's illness (as specified and parameterized by the doctor who is monitoring their health progression). By obtaining these measurement data along with the medical observations from many thousands and millions of patients with similar illnesses we will formulate a predictive analysis algorithm that will be able to predict changes in the patient's chronic illness as a function of the measurements obtained with the device. Ultimately this would mean that the algorithm will be able to predict an onset of a serious illness complication by observing changes to the data collected by MouthLab over days or weeks, before the problem exacerbates into a crisis and requires hospitalization or emergency intervention. With unrestricted access to biochemical and biophysical markers in the saliva, breath and mucous membranes, MouthLab is positioned to transform care monitoring process and empower early detection of precursors for an array of metabolic and respiratory disorders.
